About the Creator of Makeup for Ethnic Skin Tones in Suitland-Silver Hill, MD
Read on to find out more about Melody Gary, the CEO of DYC and creator of makeup for ethnic skin tones in Suitland-Silver Hill, MD.
As a young mother, I looked for opportunities to make money (ability to pay bills) and to spend time with my husband and children. I held many jobs in the past, but I was never satisfied; I always knew that I could do something more, "satisfying."
I joined an Image Consulting company as an Independent Consultant. I provided individual and group consultations in make-up artistry; skincare; and personal image care. You see, I have always been creative and loved opportunities to do makeup artistry.
After several satisfied clients, I was motivated to do more. I gained several awards and was interviewed by a nationally known newspaper in 1992. I attended make-up classes, in Washington, DC. I had some paying opportunities as Makeup Artist for weddings and within the Television Department on a nearby campus.
I also have comp cards that show my skill in makeup artistry. As time went on, it became very competitive to be an independent artist and to help support my family, I returned to work full time. After high school and college for the kids, I decided that it was time to get back to my first love and this is where I am today with Distinctively You Cosmetics.
